Return on the Universities of the Economy of Tomorrow in Montpellier
If, in the face of crises, sobriety has become a necessity to get through the winter, committed entrepreneurs and leaders see sobriety as an opportunity to implement a new economic system and regain shared prosperity.
The second edition of the Universités de l'Economie de Demain (University of the Economy of Tomorrow) brought together 400 leaders from the region to discuss the need for sobriety at the heart of their activities and public policies.
To frame the debates, entrepreneurs and managers were able to draw on the 10 proposals to the Government as well as the 10 commandments of the sober company unveiled during the summer edition of the UED.
This Great Debate of the Universities of the Economy of Tomorrow brought together Jean-Thierry Winstel (Bioviva), Julien Denormandie (Sweep, former Minister), Salomé Géraud (Le Drive Tout Nu) and Samih Khalef (Asics France).
For Julien Denormandie, the economic situation allows companies to converge towards greater sobriety. On the one hand, inflation on raw materials encourages relocation and re-industrialization, and on the other hand, inflation on energy prices naturally encourages greater sobriety.
On the other hand, according to Jean-Thierry Winstel(Bioviva), it is necessary to change the thinking of principals, entrepreneurs, managers, financiers, politicians and consumers before being able to really change the modes of action.
Echoing Jean Moreau's remarks at the Universités d'Eté de l'Economie de Demain on sobriety, Salomé Géraud concludes:
Sobriety is too often approached under the angle of the negative, it is time to recall that sobriety is more social justice, more ecological justice, more impact
During these Universities of the Economy of Tomorrow in Montpellier, three of the future unicorns with impact embodied the economy of tomorrow three spearheads of the economy in Occitania.
From MagicPallet , which aims to avoid a billion kilometers in the reverse logistic sector, to EcoMatelas , which circularizes the mattress industry and has already avoided 10,000 tons of CO2 in a few years, or Railcoop, which opens up rural areas and offers a sober alternative to the transport of goods, 3 companies to follow that are accelerating sobriety in Occitanie!
Inspired by the 10 commandments of the impact company, the Masterclasses of the Universités de l'Economie allowed entrepreneurs to work on integrating concrete elements of sobriety into the heart of their company.
Whether it is on leadership, the posture of the leader, its economic model, inclusive purchasing or on tech, the pioneer entrepreneurs of Occitania were able to share their experience with their peers.
The Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants Montpellierrain also proposed a fresco of the economy to show how to converge towards a more sustainable global economic model. On the digital side, the French Tech Méditerranée questioned whether or not digital and sobriety were incompatible.
