On January 30, the Impact France movement, with the support of Dauphine PSL and Bloomr, unveiled the Mapping of Transition Consulting Firms. With this innovative mapping, executives can now see at a glance the 451 specialist firms to support them at every stage of their transition.
Even better, it's an easy-to-access interactive platform, featuring filters and a search bar to find the firms best suited to their transformation challenges.
The French landscape of transition consulting firms is changing rapidly. It is estimated that around 25,000 employees work in ecological and social transition consulting in France today. Nevertheless, the sector is still fairly concentrated, with 61% of consultancies based in the Paris region and 57% with more than 10 employees.
Faced with strong demand from companies, we can also observe that the largest consultancies are increasingly developing their sustainability practice. For many, the strategy adopted is to acquire smaller transition consultancies. Examples include Baker Tilly (which acquired Goodwill Management and Act21), Atos (which acquired EcoAct), BCG (with Quantis), Kea Partners (with Nuova Vista), and Bearing Point (with I Care).
These transition consultancies are also increasingly coming together in communities within the Mouvement Impact France (66 firms), Association Bilan Carbone (25), Social Value France (20) and CEC Consulting (17).
