This Wednesday, April 9, Impact France, along with France Digitale and Bpifrance le Hub, is unveiling the new version of the Mapping of impact start-upswhich maps the French impact start-up ecosystem.

Discover Mapping

Two years after the last edition, what has Mapping 2025 taught us?

  • In two years, the ecosystem has grown from 1142 start-ups in 2023 to 1261 start-ups: a 10% increase in the number of impact start-ups!

  • Ecosystem growth has a direct impact on job creation, with a 7% increase in jobs created compared to 2023.

  • The most represented sector is thecircular economy, with 13.5% of mapping start-ups in this sector, followed byenergy (11.3%) andagriculture/food (10.8%)
  • Impact start-ups have raised nearly 10.8 billion euros in total since their inception: that's 8% more than in 2023.
  • Impact start-ups can be found all over France: 57% of start-ups are headquartered outside the Paris region, with 12% in Rhône-Alpes and 8% in Occitanie.
Mature start-ups with strong growth ambitions

Above all, this mapping shows the robustness of impact start-ups, which are gaining in commercial maturity in a difficult context. 54% of impact start-ups are in the production phase, already standardized and deployed with several customers. 18% are already deploying their solutions internationally.

" This 2025 mapping reveals the remarkable maturity of impact startups, which are not only finding their market, but also displaying ambitions for internationalization in a difficult economic climate. At Impact France, we see this as a positive sign for the future, and see this dynamism as a key indicator of their growth potential and their key role in the economy, both today and tomorrow. With this in mind, it will be crucial to perpetuate and strengthen financing mechanisms for ecological and social innovation, to ensure their development and lasting contribution to the economy. We are proud to support these companies and contribute to their success," declares Caroline Neyron, Managing Director of Mouvement Impact France.
